Spring is here!

Spring is finally here and I could not be happier! I was beginning to think that this season would never come and I would have enter what seems to feel like the tundra every morning. It sounds like I really hate winter, however, I love it when it snows (except not every day) and I think snow makes my surroundings look beautiful. I have had enough and am relieved that it is finally gone since I do not have to worry about constant snowstorms, icy roads, and missing class when there is still an excessive amount of work to complete.
Once in a while it is nice to have a snow day where I can stay in bed all day, watch movies, and relax without having anything to worry about. This is also fortunate since I still get paid for working a full day, so that is a bonus as well!
For the most part, I do not enjoy the fact that I have to layer up my clothing, and I cannot remember a time when we had this much snow and got to the point where it was frustrating. Some days I just did not know what to except because the weathermen have been completely off! There is also the part where I am not the best driver in the world so getting behind the wheel is something I am definitely fearful of. Extra time is needed in my morning routine because I have to warm up my car and clean it off.
I have always loved the warmth and I am glad that this snow is finally melting. There are positives and negatives for me when it comes to cold weather, but in the end, I would much rather be laying on a beach than feeling like I am in Alaska. I cannot wait until it gets warm enough for me to officially put on my summer clothes, but all I have to say is goodbye winter!

Grammar Point:
What is a parenthesis?
Parenthesis is a remark that is added to a sentence, often to provide an explanation or extra information, that is separated from the main part of the sentence by commas, brackets, or dashes.

Example: Ralph (who had brought his metal detector) spent the day searching for coins on the beach.

Insert the parenthesis where you see fit.

1. He finally answered after taking five minutes to think that he did not understand the question.
2. My boss gave me a nice bonus $500.
3. Please read the analysis you will be amazed.

  2. I liked that you talked about parentheses as your grammar point. I think this is a topic that is not addressed often and is important for students to understand when writing. I am also very happy that spring is here too!!
